Leila Alexandra

Leila Alexandra is a research assistant on the Foodprint Melbourne project, at the University of Melbourne. The project investigates ways of strengthening the resilience of Melbourne’s food system to increase equitable access to fresh, healthy foods and promote sustainable production and consumption. The project is currently assessing the resilience of Melbourne’s food system to the impacts of shocks and stresses, such as fire, drought, flood and pandemic.

Leila is interested in social-ecological perspectives on food and agricultural systems, and has worked in sustainability education, social enterprises and farming. She is passionate about the role of community in food enterprises and was a founding member of Farmer Incubator and Growing Farmers.
