Deborah Lennis

Auntie Deborah Lennis is a proud D’harawal woman, a local Elder, the Cultural Advisor at Inner West Council. For over 20 years she has worked in the field of education across all aspects: pre-school to adult. Deborah has degrees in Child Sciences, Tourism and Bach Education in Aboriginal Studies and Australian History. She has travelled the world engaging with peoples about Aboriginal history culture and ‘The Dreaming’. Deborah is a results-focused Aboriginal professional with strength in policies and strategies. She is a proactive leader with strengths in communication and collaboration. Deborah has worked extensively with all business units across Local Government Councils especially as the secretary for Local Government Aboriginal Network. Deborah worked for many years as an Educator/ Tour Guide for Royal Botanical Gardens – Sydney and Mt Annan and Centennial Parklands. In 1998 she led and provided artwork for the ‘Gurrawal Trail’ within Centennial Parklands.
