The Southern Beaches Community Garden is celebrating the expansion of their garden by sharing sustainable and environmentally friendly gardening ideas and knowledge, alongside excellent workshops, including:
• Native Beekeeping Forum
• Energex Sponsorship for Restoring the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly Habitat
• Composting and Worm Farming 10am
• Communal Gardening
• Propagation and Air Layering Techniques 9am, 1pm
• Organic, Vegetarian Community Meal from the Southern Beaches Community Garden 12pm
• Fruit and Vegetable Swap
• Garden Tours and Foraging Walks in the Edible Food Forest
• Propagation Team Plant Market 9am to 3pm
• Wicking Bed Displays and Construction 10am
• D.I.Y. Tile Mosaics Arts and Crafts Kids and Adults Groups 9am
• Earthlife Rock Minerals and Soil Conditioners Chemical Free Gardening 1pm
• Compot Installation and Usage Demonstration 11am
• Seedlings Workshop and Rock Painting Kids Group 10am to 12pm, 2pm to 3pm
In addition, Smoothjuice will be selling beautiful juices and smoothies, made from whole fruits and vegetables, throughout the day (9am to 3pm), and social drinks will close the event (5pm onwards).
