Peter May taught at the Burnley Campus of The University of Melbourne for 30 years, lecturing in soil science, and nursery and landscape horticulture.
Since retiring in 2005 he has run a consultancy business providing specialist advice in a range of areas including urban and landscape soils and the management and maintenance of landscape plants.
He is a keen productive gardener in Central Victoria (fruit trees, grapevines and vegetables).
